List of Sainik Schools in India

Sainik Schools are special schools in India. There are 33 Sainik Schools across the country. They not only teach regular subjects like math and science but also train students in physical fitness and leadership skills. Sainik Schools prepare students for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune and Indian Naval Academy.

To get into these schools, students need to pass the All-India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE). They have to take a written test, go through e-counseling, and have medical check-ups. The National Testing Agency (NTA) handles the exams. These schools help students get ready for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and a career in the Indian Armed Forces. Sainik School Facts
Girls are allowed in all the Sainik Schools in Class 6.
8 states have more than 1 Sainik Schools: AP, Bihar, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and UP.
Uttar Pradesh has highest number of Sainik Schools which is 3: Amethi, Jhansi and Mainpuri.
For Class 6, age should be 10-12 years; for Class 9, it should be 13-15 years.
